NAMIBIA will host the 5th Canada–Africa Business Conference in Windhoek on 5 February 2026, bringing together senior business leaders, investors and policymakers to strengthen trade and investment ties between Canada and Africa, with a strong focus on sustainable economic growth.
The conference, convened by the Canada–Africa Chamber of Business, will take place in the week preceding the Investing in African Mining Indaba and is expected to position Namibia at the centre of high-level Canada–Africa engagement. Delegates from Namibia, Canada and across the continent will discuss opportunities in mining, energy, infrastructure and broader economic development.
Organisers say Namibia’s reputation for regulatory certainty, sound governance and long-term policy stability has made it an increasingly attractive destination for international investment. The programme will feature senior-level panel discussions, sector-focused sessions and private roundtables aimed at accelerating responsible investment and strengthening collaboration between Namibian businesses and international partners.
B2Gold Namibia country manager John Roos said the conference provides a valuable platform for practical dialogue between investors, operators and policymakers. He said that Namibia has established itself as a jurisdiction where mining investment can be undertaken responsibly, transparently and in partnership with government and communities.
Canadian mining leaders are also expected to attend, including MineAfrica Inc. co-founder and president Wayne Floreani, who highlighted Namibia’s growing strategic importance in the global mining sector and the wider economic opportunities linked to it.
By hosting the conference, Namibia is expected to further reinforce its position as a regional hub for responsible investment while deepening commercial ties with Canada’s private sector.
