Gobabis boy accused of double murder appears in court

A 13-year-old boy, who was arrested in connection with the double murder of a 26-year-old woman and her three-year-old daughter, made his first appearance in the Gobabis Magistrate’s Court and was denied bail.

GONE TOO SOON: Nacky Macthanisia Dalime Menatzick (26), who was murdered last Friday by a 13-year-old boy along with her three-year-old toddler.

The victims, identified as Nacky Macthanisia Dalime Menatzick (26) and three-year-old Delanie Esther Menatzick, were trapped in a house and allegedly stabbed to death on Friday at Roadcamp, Epako, Gobabis, at about 11:00.

During his appearance, the 13-year-old boy was denied bail for his safety, and the case was postponed to 15 April 2026 for further investigations.

According to an incident report by the Namibian Police, the suspect attacked the victims inside a house at Erf 25, Roadcamp.

“The neighbour observed as the suspect closed the door to prevent anyone from getting out of the house. The neighbour observed as the mother (deceased) pushed her son, aged six, through the window to seek help. The neighbour heard constant screams and outcry until there was silence,” the police report stated.

The police also reported that the six-year-old who got out of the window ran to Epako Police Station to alert them.

The police allegedly returned to the crime scene, where they found the lifeless body of the boy’s mother and his injured younger sister.

The younger sister was rushed to hospital by ambulance but unfortunately succumbed to her injuries. The boy was taken to Epako Clinic, where he was attended to as he was also stabbed.
