“You are entrusted with the execution of critical operations, the stewardship of vital capabilities, and leadership that directly supports naval personnel across the Navy,” !Gonteb said.

In accepting the appointment, Pandeni expressed his appreciation and gratitude for the confidence placed in him to lead the Navy’s operational arm. He also thanked Lazarus for his commitment and leadership during his time as CNO.

The outgoing commander, Lazarus, acknowledged the significant responsibilities attached to the position and said he was confident that the Fleet would continue to perform strongly under Pandeni’s leadership.

“I am confident that the Fleet will remain in good hands under your command, and I have no doubt that you will continue to strengthen and modernise the Fleet,” Lazarus said.

During his tenure, Lazarus led naval operations within Namibian waters and beyond, playing a key role in protecting maritime interests and projecting the country’s presence at sea.
