THREE people lost their lives and several others were injured in two separate road accidents that occurred hundreds of kilometres apart on Saturday.
An adult and a minor died when a Quantum minibus overturned in the Kavango West Region near the Mururani Gate on the Grootfontein–Rundu main road. Seventeen other occupants sustained injuries of varying degrees and were taken to hospital.
Another fatal accident occurred near Omalindi village on the B1 main road when a Toyota pickup collided head-on with a South Africa-registered truck. According to the police, the driver of the pickup was travelling alone and died on the spot. No further details are currently available.
