THE fire that broke out earlier today at the Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR) staff accommodation in Sesriem has resulted in the death of a toddler.
This was confirmed by the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology (MICT) in the Hardap Region.
According to the MICT Hardap Regional Office, the fire has been successfully extinguished, but it claimed one life and reportedly destroyed 50 staff accommodation units, two vehicles and other accommodation facilities in the process.
“Members of the Namibian Police remain at the scene as they await the arrival of the Scene of Crime and Pathology Unit,” the MICT Hardap Region added.
The cause of the fire has not been revealed yet.
