THE cultivation of rain-fed crops, which was put on hold in most parts of the northern regions due to the dry weather of the past few weeks, will now resume in all earnest after most parts received significant rainfall over the past 24 hours.
“We were starting to worry, but the fairly good rainfall last night rekindled our hope,” said Thomas Nghinaunye, a resident of Oshakati who has a mahangu field in the Omuntele Constituency of the Oshikoto Region.
Other parts of the country also received good rainfall on Wednesday, namely parts of Khomas, Kavango West, Otjozondjupa and Zambezi.
