THE Namibian Police in the Omusati Region have arrested a 59-year-old suspect who was allegedly found in possession of an object suspected to be an elephant tusk.
According to the police, the male suspect was arrested in the Onandjaba settlement on Friday, shortly before noon.
Neither the tusk’s value nor its provenance is known.
The suspect is expected to appear in court on Monday morning.
