Horses worth N$1.2 million stolen at farm near Omaruru

A 68-YEAR-OLD Namibian farmer suffered a devastating loss after 25 of her pure-bred Friesian horses, valued at about N$1.2 million, were stolen.

According to Senior Inspector Judith Shomongula, the stock theft incident happened between 7 June 2022 and March 2025 at an unknown time, at Farm Kasandara Game, Omaruru District.

“The suspects allegedly stole the horses from the farm and sold them,” Shomongula said, adding that the 25 Friesian horses are valued at N$1,250,000.00 and that none of the horses have been recovered to date.
