Leaders from the Namibian public and private sector agreed on continuous and open dialogue for economic planning.
FirstRand Namibia hosted a Mid-Term Economic Breakfast Budget Review at its Parkside Head Office in Windhoek, gathering public and private sector leaders to unpack the 2025 National Budget. FirstRand Namibia Group CEO, Conrad Dempsey, highlighted the importance of continuous dialogue for Namibia’s economic planning, praising President Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah’s accessible leadership style. Minister of Finance Hon. Ericah Shafudah delivered the keynote, emphasizing the private sector’s role in job creation, the need for fiscal reforms, and the significance of a robust domestic capital market, also thanking banks for their support in redeeming Namibia’s Eurobond.

A panel discussion featuring experts from FirstRand, NAMRA, Bank of Namibia, and Deloitte explored the broader implications of the budget for businesses, investors, and citizens under the theme “Revenue Realities and Tax Transitions.” The event concluded with an interactive Q&A session, giving attendees the opportunity to engage directly with panellists and gain deeper insight into Namibia’s economic outlook.
The Mid-Term Economic Breakfast reaffirmed Namibia’s economic resilience and underscored the need for bold fiscal reforms, sound debt management, and strategic infrastructure investment as key drivers of long-term growth. It also highlighted FirstRand Namibia’s ongoing commitment to innovation, transparency, and collaborative leadership.
