Rusted ammunition and pieces of bones discovered at Oshakati

Staff Reporter

THE Namibian Police were promptly notified recently when Oshakati Town Council employees stumbled upon ten rusted live rounds of ammunition, thirteen spent cartridges, and pieces of bones while clearing an unoccupied erf in the Evululuko informal settlement.

The discovery occurred when the workers removed one of the boundary fence poles.

The police said that a forensic examination will be conducted to determine whether the bones are human or not, since no skull was found.

Both the bones and the rusted ammunition are estimated to date back to the pre-independence period.
