THE Namibian Police Force is urgently appealing to members of the public for assistance in tracing a wanted suspect in the ongoing murder and rape investigation following the discovery of Juanita Karolus, whose body was found in Katutura on the morning of Friday, 3 October 2025, at approximately 09:30.
The body of Karolus, a 33-year-old female, was found at the Katutura Sports Complex, behind People’s Primary School.
Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi, national spokesperson of the Namibian Police, said that preliminary investigations indicate that Karolus was last seen alive on Thursday, 2 October 2025, at approximately 23:00, in the company of an unknown male individual.

“This person of interest was reportedly wearing a blue overall, carrying a black backpack, and holding a black plastic bag, and was last seen walking together with Karolus along Hans-Dietrich Street, heading toward Hans Uirab Street in Katutura. As part of the investigation, video footage has been obtained and is being released to aid in the identification of the person of interest. Therefore, our appeal goes to any person who may recognize the individual in the footage or who has relevant information to immediately come forward and report to the police,” Shikwambi said.
