Wia Gold reports encouraging drilling results at Kokoseb Project

Staff Reporter

WIA Gold Limited has reported encouraging assay results from its Kokoseb Gold Project in north-western Namibia, indicating strong potential for expanding both open-pit and underground resources.

According to the company, the latest findings include several high-grade gold intercepts from reverse circulation and diamond drilling, reinforcing Kokoseb’s growth prospects and supporting Wia Gold’s plan to deliver a Definitive Feasibility Study by the second half of 2026.

The Kokoseb Gold Project, situated within the Okombahe Exploration Licence area — a joint venture between Wia Gold (80%) and the state-owned mining company, Epangelo. The licence forms part of Wia’s broader Damaran Belt portfolio, which comprises 12 tenements covering more than 2,700 square kilometres.

Exploration work at Kokoseb began in late 2021, when soil sampling and trenching revealed a large, coherent gold anomaly exceeding 100 parts per billion. This led to a small-scale reconnaissance drilling programme in the second quarter of 2022, involving 12 holes drilled to a depth of 1,747 metres.

The initial programme returned multiple thick, shallow, high-grade gold intercepts, confirming the project’s strong mineral potential. Since then, continued reverse circulation and diamond drilling campaigns have significantly expanded the known extent of the Kokoseb deposit over the past two years.
