Two people take their own lives over weekend

THE Namibian Police reported two incidents involving people taking their own lives this weekend, revealing that one incident involved an 18-year-old.

The police revealed that the 18-year-old, a learner from Ombombo Combined School at Ombombo village, took his own life by hanging himself outside the school on Friday.

According to the police, the 18-year-old requested permission to leave the premises to buy personal items. He was later discovered hanging from a Mopane tree outside the schoolyard.

The police identified the deceased as Uahupiramo Mutambo. No note was found, and no foul play is suspected. His next of kin was informed.

In a separate incident, a 19-year-old took his own life in Wanaheda, Windhoek, on Sunday. The police identified him as Gideon Mbashi.

The police revealed that his body was discovered hanging in the toilet by his father. No note was left behind. The police confirmed that no foul play is suspected and the deceased’s next of kin were informed.
