A 21-YEAR-OLD resident of Ondangwa who allegedly kept her parents in the dark about her pregnancy now faces a charge of concealment of birth after she gave birth to a baby girl and put it in a shopping bag, which she hid in a wardrobe in her bedroom.
The police said that it is not yet clear whether the baby was born alive or not.
The lifeless body of the baby was discovered by her parents, who did not know that she was pregnant.
“Although they suspected that she was pregnant, she denied it when she was asked some time ago,” said the police.
The suspect was admitted to the Onandjokwe District Hospital.
