THE Outapi Mayoral Cup concluded successfully this weekend, showcasing youth talent, community unity, and sporting excellence.
The tournament, which ran from 5–7 September, featured competitive action in youth soccer, legend soccer, and netball, with all teams showcasing outstanding sportsmanship and teamwork.
Town spokesperson Joolokeni Haidula indicated that no accidents were recorded throughout the tournament.



“All matches were played in a safe and respectful atmosphere, a testament to the community’s commitment to fair play,” she said.
She added that in the Youth Soccer Tournament, MPSH were crowned champions, receiving a trophy, gold medals, and a cash prize of N$30,000.
Meanwhile, Oshikuku Young Stars finished second, earning silver medals and N$20,000, while Super Eagles secured third place with bronze medals and N$10,000.
The Legend Soccer category saw Ruacan Power Legends take first place, earning a trophy, gold medals, and N$20,000.
In second place, Ondangwa Masters scooped silver medals and N$15,000. In a tie for third, Brave Legends and Northern Legends each received bronze medals and N$5,000.
In the Netball category, Okamwandi United emerged as champions, awarded a trophy, gold medals, and N$10,000. Runs United took second place, earning silver medals and N$8,000, and Extreme Netball Club finished third, receiving bronze medals and N$6,000.
The official prize handover ceremony was attended by Omusati Governor Immanuel Shikongo, Outapi Mayor Selma Asino, and Victorina Neingo, Chairperson of the Management Committee.
Haidula stressed that the Outapi Mayoral Cup continues to be a beacon of regional pride and youth development, fostering a love for sport and community spirit.
The tournament organisers extended sincere gratitude to the sponsors, FNB Namibia Outapi and Pupkewitz MegaBuild Outapi, for their generous support.
Special thanks were also given to the Outapi Town Council Management, the organising committee, and all volunteers whose tireless efforts contributed to the event’s success.
