AMBUNDA Jacob Iipinge, a 61-year-old resident of Tsumeb who travelled with his wife to a wedding feast in the Oshana Region, died in a head-on collision Friday evening.
His 50-year-old wife and another passenger, aged 41, survived with moderate injuries.
The accident occurred on the Oshakati-Okahao main road when the late Iipinge’s silver Hyundai hatchback (N94553W), which was travelling from the direction of Oshakati, collided head-on with a red Mazda Demio hatchback (N12362UP) travelling in the opposite direction.
All three occupants of the Hyundai travelled from Tsumeb and had just attended a wedding ceremony in Oshitayi village.
The 26-year-old driver of the Mazda sustained a broken right leg and right arm. His two passengers, aged 33 and 34, sustained injuries of varying degrees and were taken to the Oshakati Intermediate Hospital in stable condition.
