A NAMIBIAN female of adult age died a horrible death at Outapi, Omusati region, when she was raped and then beaten to death during the early morning hours of Thursday.
A suspect has been taken into custody late Friday afternoon.
The victim’s lifeless body was found dumped in the foundation trench of a building in the Onhimbu location.
According to the police, a suspect raped the victim and then assaulted her with a dry stick and a stone on the head.
She died on the spot and the suspect dragged the body into a building’s foundation trench where it was discovered.
The victim was identified only as a Namibian female of adult age from the Oufa waElia village in the Outapi constituency.
Omusati regional police commander Ismael Basson said that the suspect was arrested late Friday afternoon.
