A TAXI driver has been arrested in Walvis Bay after he allegedly bumped a 28-year-old woman following a fight over a taxi fare.
According to Senior Inspector Judith Shomongula of the Erongo Police, the incident of attempted murder happened on Monday, 18 August 2025, at about 01:00 in Namport suburb, Kuisebmond.
“It is alleged that the suspect bumped a 28-year-old Namibian female with a vehicle, which caused a fracture to the victim’s left foot after an argument over a taxi fare. The victim was taken to Walvis Bay State Hospital, treated, and discharged the same day,” Shomongula said.
She added that the suspect was arrested and will appear before the Walvis Bay Magistrate’s Court on Friday, 22 August 2025.
