Governor Iipinge visits OuTA’s Queen Nelumbu

MEEKULU Martha Mwadinomho Kristian Nelumbu, the head of the Oukwanyama Traditional Authority (OuTA), and Governor Hofni Iipinge of the Oshana Region have expressed their dedication to building strong bridges between traditional and modern governance for the betterment of the people.

Governor Iipinge paid a courtesy visit to Queen Nelumbu at her palace in Omhedi village, Ohangwena Region, on Thursday as part of his ongoing engagement with traditional leaders who have jurisdictions within Oshana. The aim is to strengthen collaboration and promote peace, unity, and socio-economic development.



Three traditional authorities — Ondonga, Uukwambi, and Oukwanyama — have jurisdictions within the Oshana Region.

Governor Iipinge expressed his respect and admiration for Meekulu Nelumbu’s leadership role in preserving culture, fostering unity, and championing the welfare of her people.

He reaffirmed his office’s commitment to working closely with traditional leaders to ensure that the voices of communities are heard and their needs addressed in government programs.

In turn, the Queen said the importance of a strong partnership between traditional leaders and government institutions to advance development and to safeguard mutual respect, peace, and solidarity.
