NamPost launches investigation into alleged pensioner fraud

THE Namibia Post Limited (NamPost) has initiated an urgent internal investigation into serious allegations of fraud involving a pensioner, which have recently circulated on social media.

In a statement released on Monday, NamPost spokesperson Gladwin Groenewaldt confirmed that the company is taking these allegations very seriously.

Groenewaldt indicated that upon learning of the matter, NamPost immediately commenced an internal probe to ascertain the facts and determine the full scope of the situation.

He said that NamPost is currently engaging all relevant stakeholders to ensure a transparent and accountable process.

He acknowledged the disturbing nature of the claims, particularly those suggesting the fraudulent addition of beneficiaries, unauthorised monthly deductions, and potential abuse of the procuratorship system.

“The protection of all our clients, especially elderly and vulnerable clients, is non-negotiable, and any breach of that trust will be addressed with full consequences,” he said.

He urged any customer who believes they may have been affected by similar actions to contact the company directly.

Groenewaldt reiterated the postal service’s commitment to upholding the integrity of its services and safeguarding the dignity of every client it serves.

He also expressed appreciation for the public’s patience and understanding as it works to resolve this matter swiftly and decisively.
