VILHO Kondjashili Hamunyela, a 46-year-old Namibian man, was stabbed to death over the past weekend with a knife he had retrieved from his home after a fight broke out.
According to the weekend crime report, the incident of murder occurred on Saturday, 26 July 2025, between 20:00 and 21:30 at a house in Peter Nanyemba Road, Katutura, Havana location as the suspect allegedly followed the victim home after the fight broke out.
Deputy Commissioner Kauna Shikwambi said that a 48-year-old Namibian man was arrested in connection with the incident.
“It is further alleged that the suspect and the victim argued at a nearby bar, at the gambling machine, before the owner of the bar chased them outside to continue their fight. The victim went to his house and took out a hammer and a knife and hit the suspect with a hammer on the forehead, and the suspect took the knife from the victim and stabbed the deceased on the upper left chest.
The victim died on the spot, and the suspect handed himself over at Wanahenda Police Station. The deceased’s next of kin have been informed. Police investigations continue,” Shikwambi concluded.
