Namibia’s Brave Warriors to Host World Cup Qualifiers in Botswana

THE Namibia Football Association (NFA) has announced a significant partnership with the Botswana Football Association (BFA), which will see the Brave Warriors play all their home matches in Francistown, Botswana, with immediate effect.

This was confirmed by Cassius Moetie, Interim General Secretary of the NFA, in a media statement released on Sunday.

Moetie indicated that extensive consultations between the NFA and the BFA had taken place, with both federations fully aligned on the objective of continuing to build football in both Namibia and Botswana.

“Hence, we are pleased to confirm that the Botswana Football Association has approved that the Namibia Football Association host its upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualification matches at the Obed Itani Chilume Stadium in Francistown, Botswana,” said Mfolo Mfolo, the BFA General Secretary.

Mfolo expressed pride in the BFA’s ability to support their neighbours and fellow members of the African football community.

He further added that they will work closely with the NFA to ensure that all necessary arrangements, including stadium preparedness, security, logistics, and medical support, are aligned with FIFA standards for international matches.

Moetie said that everyone in the NFA is excited about this new initiative.

He added that they will mobilise a huge contingent of Namibians at home, in Botswana, in South Africa and elsewhere in southern Africa to travel by road to Francistown to rally their uncompromising support behind the Brave Warriors to collect maximum points at their home games against Malawi and São Tomé in September 2025.
