President Nandi-Ndaitwah commends EU for continued support to Namibia

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has commended the Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Namibia for its continued support and valuable contributions to the country’s development.

She expressed her appreciation during a recent courtesy meeting with Ana Beatriz Martins, the EU Ambassador to Namibia. The President highlighted green hydrogen, agriculture, good governance, and capacity-building as key areas in which the EU has provided significant support.

She also acknowledged the EU’s assistance during challenging times, including national disasters and periods of national mourning, such as the passing of Founding President Dr Sam Nujoma and Third President Dr Hage Geingob.

Ambassador Martins reaffirmed the EU’s strong commitment to its partnership with Namibia, emphasising the importance of their joint efforts in advancing green energy and governance initiatives for the benefit of the Namibian people.

“Warm and constructive meeting with the President to advance EU–Namibia ties. As Namibia’s largest and most diversified trading partner, the EU remains a reliable partner that delivers for European and Namibian citizens – from renewable energy to high-value agricultural products,” Martins added.
