THE highly anticipated explosive boxing bonanza, hosted by Bulelo Boxing Academy and proudly sponsored by the Ondangwa Town Council, has been rescheduled to tomorrow (Wednesday).
The event will take place at the Ondangwa Trade Fair Centre.
Boxing organiser Hedison “Bulelo” Nghipondoka said the date change from the original Friday was mandated by the Namibia Boxing and Wrestling Board to avoid a clash with a professional fight scheduled for Saturday in Windhoek.

According to Nghipondoka, while they had initially coordinated with the Oshana Federation, where they are affiliated, the national board now has the final say in approving fights across Namibia.
“The explosive boxing bonanza will feature top boxers from the Oshana Region, challenging Bulelo’s own in a bid to prove their mettle and pave their way to future championships,” he said.
He added that any boxer unwilling to face the region’s most highly rated competitors will be excused from the academy.
Nghipondoka stressed that there is no shortcut in sport.
Further, he said that the evening promises 12 exciting fights, while Simon Kalenga and Sakaria Angula are set to headline the main bouts of the night.
“The undercard is equally impressive, featuring talented flyweight boxers like Amunyela Natangwe, also known as ‘Black Balk Junior,’ alongside many other promising fighters,” he added.
He said that boxers from various academies across the regions will be participating, including MTC Kilimanjaro, Teremoto Boxing Academy, Oshakati Boxing Academy, Rainbow Boxing Academy, Chris Junior Boxing Academy from the Oshikoto Region, and King Fillemon Shuumbwa Boxing Academy.
Nghipondoka then urged all businesses, individuals, and boxing fans to come out in large numbers to support these promising Namibian champions and future world champions.
