THE body of a 63-year-old woman, identified as Kristofina Ananias, was discovered in a water pan near Iimpenyu cucashops in the Oniipa area of the Oshikoto Region.
Oshikoto Head of Community Policing Subdivision, Chief Inspector Ellen Nehale-Kangulu, said the discovery was made around 13h30 on Tuesday by family members.
According to Nehale-Kangulu, the deceased was reported missing last week Saturday.
“Her body was retrieved by members of the police’s Special Reserve Force during a search operation,” she said.
She added that family members identified the deceased at the scene.
The body was transported to the Onandjokwe State Hospital mortuary, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
