A MOMENT of silence was observed at the Jose Eduardo dos Santos Campus of the University of Namibia (UNAM) Engineering campus in Ongwediva during a lecture on Friday.
Professor Oluwagbenga Johnson, who directed a short programme following the visit of the High Commissioner of India to Namibia, Rahul Shrivastava, requested a moment of silence.
According to Johnson, they were remembering those who lost their lives in the tragic Air India Jet AI171 crash near Ahmedabad Airport in Western India, in which the majority of passengers and crew members appear to have lost their lives.
“This unfortunate crash is not only an air disaster that saddens the Indian people, but all,” he said.
They then extended their sincere condolences to the Indian people and the families affected by this horrendous air crash.
