NAMIBIA’S impressive run of form continued as they kicked off their COSAFA Cup 2025 campaign today with a hard-fought 1-1 draw against regional rivals Angola.
The Brave Warriors arrived at the tournament on a five-match unbeaten streak across all competitions, boasting two wins and three draws (W2, D3).
This consistent performance, highlighted by successful CHAN qualification and solid outings in World Cup qualifiers, shows their growing resilience and determination on the pitch.

Unlike their previous meeting in the 2024 COSAFA Cup final, where Angola famously thrashed Namibia 5-0, this time the Brave Warriors showcased significant resilience, preventing Angola from securing a winning start on their home turf.
Despite Angola being reduced to ten men earlier in the second half, they managed to take the lead in the 89th minute from the penalty spot.
However, Namibia’s Ivan Kamberipa emerged as the hero for the Brave Warriors, scoring a crucial equaliser in stoppage time to secure a valuable point and deny Angola a home victory.
Looking ahead, Namibia is now scheduled to play Malawi on Sunday. This crucial group stage match will be held at the Dr Rantlai Petrus Stadium in Mangaung, South Africa.
