THE Deputy Mayor of Swakopmund, Suama Kautondokwa, took a moment to specially acknowledge the Swakopmund Municipality Sports Club for their participation in this year’s Namibia Local Authority Sports and Recreation Association (NALASRA) Games, held in Katima Mulilo.
Kautondokwa was speaking during a council announcement held on Tuesday.
She expressed immense pride in the team, who travelled to represent the town in various sporting codes, including football, volleyball, tug of war, netball, and several others.
“As the centre of adventure, we are extremely proud of the team for their dedication, commitment, and the spirit of sportsmanship they demonstrated throughout the competition,” she said.
She added that activities such as these not only promote wellness and camaraderie but also place Swakopmund on the national map in a meaningful way.
Kautondokwa also extended sincere gratitude to Kumwe Fishing for their generous sponsorship of football kits and balls, noting that their support was deeply appreciated.
Addressing the team directly, she thanked them for representing Swakopmund with pride.
“We encourage you to maintain this positive team spirit and begin preparations for the next games,” she concluded.
