THE Ministry of Information and Communication Technology is inviting members of the public to submit short videos speaking out against Gender-Based Violence (GBV), as part of its ‘End GBV Namibia’ campaign.
“The public is urged to voluntarily record and submit short videos speaking out against Gender-Based Violence. The videos will be shared on various social media platforms during the rollout of the #EndGBVNamibia campaign,” the Ministry explained.
Videos should be no longer than 30 seconds and recorded in landscape orientation. Each video should begin with the participant stating their name, followed by their anti-GBV message, and conclude with the phrase: “hashtag end GBV Namibia.” Submissions can be sent via WhatsApp to +264 81 160 0263.
The campaign will be launched on Wednesday, 4 June 2025, and will be jointly officiated by the Minister of Information and Communication Technology, Emma Theofelus, and the Minister of Gender Equality and Child Welfare, Dr Emma Kantema. The ‘End GBV Namibia’ campaign is also supported by GIZ under the banner of the Nationhood and National Pride Programme.
“The campaign seeks to raise awareness about GBV in Namibia, encourage open dialogue, and promote locally driven solutions to address this critical issue,” said the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology’s Public Relations Officer, Ngaevarue Heuva.
