THE 4th edition of the Northern Volley Games is set to take place this Saturday at the Embadu Sports Stadium in the Oshana Region.
The event, dubbed “Northern Volleyball for All,” has so far attracted teams from across the northern areas of Oshana, Ohangwena, Omusati, and Oshikoto.
Asheel Ramjit, owner of ACR Event and founder of the tournament, said this year’s competition will see teams such as FNB, Bank Windhoek, Standard Bank, MTC, Ondangwa Private Hospital, MediPark, Old Mutual, and Pupkewitz VW North, among others, competing.
According to Ramjit, the tournament is open to corporates, businesses, and the public, but strictly excludes registered or professional league volleyball players.
Ramjit emphasised that teams must be mixed, with a 50/50 male and female ratio.
“The games are strictly for non-professionals, focusing on team building and enjoyment for the whole family,” he said.
He added that First National Bank is the main sponsor of the event, with ambitions to expand this initiative to all regions of the country.
He then called on the public to attend in large numbers and show their support.
