THE Faith Foundation has officially launched its highly anticipated boxing bonanza in Ongwediva, setting the stage for a thrilling showdown between two prominent Namibian figures: the veteran Harry Simon and Paulus Shimweefeleni, famously known as “Ninja.”
The boxing bonanza, launched at Ongwediva on Wednesday, is slated for 14 June 2025 at the Oshakati Independence Stadium.
The upcoming event promises to deliver a captivating night of boxing action, with the highlight being the battle in the ring between the experienced Simon and the determined Shimweefeleni.
Speaking at the launch, Paulus “Ninja” Shimweefeleni expressed his excitement and confidence, assuring his supporters of a memorable night.
He enthusiastically called upon his fans to begin their celebrations in anticipation of the event.
“There is always a first time and a last time. I have been preparing in the gym since December, and I am ready and more prepared,” he said.
Meanwhile, Simon indicated that he had time to go to the gym and was able to gauge where he stood against Shimweefeleni.
Foundation founder Dennis Tobias indicated that they are committed to providing the best evidence-informed interventions to prevent juvenile-related crimes, reduce re-offending, protect the public, and enable sustained desistance from offending and anti-social behaviour.
“The proceeds generated from the boxing bonanza will be used for research on crime statistics towards the establishment of rehabilitation centres across Namibia,” he said.
He added that they want to combat crime and restore dignity to the people, hence the boxing bonanza.
Tobias stressed that the Foundation recognises that to achieve its vision of a safer and more inclusive society, it needs to work with agencies and ministries, other non-profit organisations, security and correctional services, criminal justice partners, beneficiaries, and the wider community.
