PRESIDENT Dr Netumbo Ndemupelila Nandi-Ndaitwah paid an introductory working visit to Zimbabwe, where she met with President Emmerson Mnangagwa at State House in Harare.

President Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe extended a warm welcome to his Namibian counterpart, adding that the visit symbolised the enduring solidarity and shared history between the two southern African nations.

“This engagement reflects the deep-rooted solidarity and shared history between our two nations,” Mnangagwa said. “As is tradition in SADC, such visits mark the beginning of continued cooperation and dialogue on matters of mutual interest, including regional development, trade, security, and integration.”

The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and working closely within the framework of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) to promote peace, stability, and economic growth in the region.

President Nandi-Ndaitwahs’ trip to Zimbabwe forms part of a series of introductory engagements with fellow regional leaders.

Both heads of state expressed confidence that the close ties between Zimbabwe and Namibia will continue to flourish, benefiting the citizens of both countries.
