A 50-YEAR-OLD woman has been arrested following an alleged attempted murder incident involving her 32-year-old ex-boyfriend.
Senior Inspector Maureen Mbeha of the Otjozondjupa Community Policing Sub-division said the incident occurred at around 22h30 on Friday in Otjiwarongo.
According to Mbeha, the victim allegedly went to his ex-girlfriend’s house at the time of the incident, where an argument broke out.
“During the altercation, the woman allegedly stabbed him with a sharp metal knife on the left side of his chest, beneath the left arm, causing a serious open wound,” she said.
She added that the victim was initially transported to a local hospital in a Rubicon Security vehicle. However, due to the severity of the injury, he was later transferred to Windhoek by ambulance.
His condition is reported as serious.
Mbeha stressed that the suspect has been arrested and charged with attempted murder, read with the provisions of the Domestic Violence Act.
She is expected to appear in the Otjiwarongo Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
