CONTROLLED OPENING OF AVIS DAM SLUICE GATES: The City of Windhoek has opened the sluices at Avis Dam this morning to manage the rising water levels. Residents, communities, and motorists in low-lying areas downstream are urged to exercise caution, as the water discharge may lead to rising river levels. According to the City of Windhoek, the river will flow through several areas in Windhoek, including Avis Road, Andries Street, Helen Street, Never Street, Barilla Street, Boker Street, Uland Street, Nelson Mandela Avenue, Von Eckenbrecher Street, Schanzenweg Street, Kilimanjaro Street, and Eros Weg.
