THE Oshakati-Omakango pipeline, which is crucial for delivering potable water to thousands, has reportedly been damaged.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, NamWater spokesperson Lot Ndamanomhata indicated that a pipe break occurred on the Oshakati-Omakango pipeline on Tuesday afternoon.
“Our technical team is currently attending to the issue despite multiple onsite challenges, as the break occurred in the waterlogged Oshana plain,” he said.
He added that normal water supply to the affected areas will resume immediately upon repair, with full pressure expected to be restored by Thursday.
Ndamanomhata said the affected areas and constituencies include Helao Nafidi Town Council, Ondobe, Endola, Engela, Omulonga, Ongenga, Oshikango, and Oshakati Town Council.
He then urged key national essential service institutions such as hospitals, boarding schools, police stations, and clinics requiring assistance to contact their office.
