WIDESPREAD rainfall is once again expected in multiple regions this weekend.

According to the Namibia Meteorological Services, these storms are anticipated to be moderate to heavy, affecting various areas from the north to the south of the country. The Namibia Meteorological Services highlighted Rundu, Ondangwa, Windhoek, and Keetmanshoop as some of the places likely to experience rainfall on Saturday and Sunday. However, Saturday’s rainfall will likely focus primarily on the western interior areas.

The Namibia Meteorological Services has urged the public to remain cautious, as the anticipated showers this weekend could lead to flash floods in various places. This warning was reiterated by the Hydrological Services of Namibia, which also urged the activation of contingency plans for flood risk mitigation and recovery in the flood-prone northern, northeastern, and far north-eastern parts of the country.

The Hydrological Services of Namibia further predicted that moderate to heavy rainfall is likely to persist in multiple areas across the country, excluding some coastal regions, until 10 March.
