A 20-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested in Ongwediva on suspicion of sexually assaulting an eight-year-old boy.
Deputy Commissioner Frederick Ndjadila, Oshana’s Crime Investigation Coordinator for the Namibian Police Force, said that the alleged incident occurred in February. However, the matter was only reported to police by the victim’s biological father on Tuesday.
“The suspect, who is a learner, entered the victim’s room, who is also a learner, slapped the victim on his cheek, then undressed the victim, and sexually assaulted him,” Ndjadila said.
The suspect has been arrested and charged with rape.
He is expected to appear before the Oshakati Magistrate’s Court this week.
