Agriculture Ministry opens bidding for lease of plots at green schemes

The Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform is inviting small-scale farmers to apply for the lease of plots at green scheme irrigation projects.

The ministry’s Executive Director, Ndiyakupi Nghituwamata, highlighted that applications are being invited through Open Advertised Bidding (OAB) for the leasing of vacant plots at the following green scheme projects: Etunda Green Scheme, which has 28 vacant plots; Musese Green Scheme, which has one vacant plot; Ndonga Linena Green Scheme, which has four vacant plots; and the Orange River Irrigation Project (ORIP) Green Scheme, which has three vacant plots.

She explained that the qualification requirements and additional details are provided in the Bidding Documents, which can be downloaded from the ministry’s website at https://mawf.gov.na/. Bids must be submitted to the Lands Building on the ground floor of the Ministry of Agriculture, located at the corner of Robert Mugabe Avenue and Dr May Street in Windhoek.

Bids must be submitted on or before 29 February 2025 at 11:00 am. Nghituwamata warned that electronic bidding will not be permitted, and late bids will be rejected. She added that bids will be opened in the presence of applicants’ representatives who choose to attend in person at 11:05 am on 29 February 2025.
