THE Friedenau Dam in the Khomas Region, the Oanob Dam in the Hardap Region, and the Neckartal Dam in the //Kharas Region all recorded positive inflows over the past week.

“The Namibia Water Corporation (NamWater) is pleased to report positive inflows into key reservoirs, with the Friedenau, Neckartal, and Oanob dams recording notable increases in water levels over the past week,” said NamWater’s Head of Public Relations and Corporate Communications, Lot Ndamanomhata.

He revealed that between 27 January 2025 and 3 February 2025, the Friedenau Dam recorded an inflow of 0.047 million cubic metres (Mm³), bringing its current capacity to 46.1%. Similarly, the Oanob Dam experienced a rise of 0.319 Mm³ since last Monday, with its total storage capacity reaching 32.9% as of 3 February 2025. The Neckartal Dam, already holding a high water level, saw an increase of 0.728 Mm³ over the last week, bringing its level to 79.8% as of 3 February 2025.

“These inflows contribute positively to the overall water security of their respective regions. NamWater continues to monitor water levels and urges the public to use water responsibly, despite these improvements,” Ndamanomhata urged.
