In a broader outlook, the Hydrological Services of Namibia forecast light showers in the northern to south-eastern parts of the country until next Tuesday, 4 February 2024.

“With normal to above-normal rainfall expected, it is advised that contingency plans for flood risk mitigation and recovery be activated in the flood-prone northern regions of Namibia,” the Hydrological Services added.

The country has already seen widespread showers in recent days, stretching from north to south, with the most recent rains affecting areas such as Etosha in the north, Okahandja in the Otjozondjupa Region, Windhoek in the Khomas Region, Rehoboth in the Hardap Region, and Keetmanshoop in the //Kharas Region, among others.

These showers have not gone unappreciated, with many social media users sharing photos of cloudy skies and rainfall from their respective areas.
