A MALE resident of Ongonga village in the Ohangwena Region drowned in a water pond at an unknown time, but his body was discovered and removed from the water on Friday morning.
According to the police, the deceased, aged 21, was last seen socializing with others at the local cucashops on Thursday evening.
Both the police and traditional authorities have repeatedly advised members of the public to avoid walking near water ponds and crossing floodplains in the evenings, especially during the rainy season when incidents of drowning increase.
