THE Namibian police could not confirm whether the two twin brothers aged 9, one of whom is suspected of having raped a five-year-old girl during the December school holidays, have gone back to school or were placed in the care of social workers.
A case of rape was reported to the police at Tsintsabis in the Oshikoto Region recently.
It is alleged that the crime occurred on an unknown date during December when the victim and the two identical twins travelled from Tsumeb to the Tsintsabis settlement for holidays.
One of the twins allegedly raped the victim, causing her injuries.
The crime only came to light days later when the victim revealed it to her 12-year-old brother who in turn reported it to their grandmother.
However, the victim is unable to point out exactly who of the identical twins is the suspect.
The victim, who is the two suspects’ cousin, attends a kindergarten in the Kunene Region, while the suspects are both Grade 4 learners in the Oshikoto Region.
