JUST IN: Tjizake Murangi, the 22-year-old accused of murdering his ex-girlfriend, 29-year-old Frieda Amadhila, in April 2024, has had his bail application dismissed by Magistrate Monica Adjaba. The magistrate said that the State has proven it has a prima facie case against Murangi. She added that a J88 form showed the deceased had suffered severe injuries and was stabbed eight times. Additionally, Murangi admitted to breaking into the deceased’s residence using an iron bar, despite claiming he did so to retrieve his cellphone. After the stabbing, Murangi allegedly drove to Katutura State Hospital, parked at the entrance of the emergency department, and told nurses that Amadhila needed urgent attention. She was declared dead upon arrival. Murangi, who had two stab wounds on his neck, was also admitted to the hospital. Full report to follow.
