UPDATE: The Electoral Court has ordered that the Independent Patriots for Change (IPC) political party pay a total of N$450,000 in security for costs, charges, and expenses that would be incurred during the court case it has brought forth challenging the outcome of the National Assembly elections, in which it argued that the President acted unlawfully in extending the 2024 National Assembly and Presidential Elections. It was ordered that the party pay a total of N$150,000 to each of the three opposing respondents in the matter, namely, the President (1st respondent), the Electoral Commission of Namibia and the Chief Electoral Officer (2nd and 3rd respondents), and the Swapo Party (5th respondent).
