THE Minister of Education, Arts and Culture, Anna Nghipondoka, has called on teachers and learners to remain dedicated as they embark on the 2025 academic year.
Speaking during her 2025 academic year welcoming address on Tuesday, Nghipondoka encouraged reflection on the progress and achievements of the previous year.
According to Nghipondoka, the dedication, resilience, and commitment demonstrated by educators and learners in 2024 have laid a strong foundation for continued success.
“Your hard work throughout 2024 has laid a strong foundation for continued success, and we urge you to carry this same zeal and determination into the year ahead,” she said.
She emphasized the importance of collaboration and a shared purpose, stating that these values will lead to even greater accomplishments.
To the learners, Nghipondoka expressed hope that they approach the new academic year with optimism and determination.
“This year presents an opportunity for growth, learning, and the pursuit of your dreams. Be proactive in your studies—embrace each challenge as a stepping stone to success. While obstacles may arise, perseverance, focus, and a positive attitude will help you overcome them,” she said.
She reminded learners that education is a journey and encouraged them to dream big, as they are the future of Namibia.
Nghipondoka also addressed school principals, emphasizing their vital role in fostering an environment of excellence, inclusivity, and innovation.
“As leaders, your vision and direction are crucial to the success of your schools. Your leadership is a beacon of hope for both teachers and learners alike,” she said.
Furthermore, the minister urged parents to remain actively involved in their children’s education, noting that their role is indispensable. She also called on education directors and stakeholders to provide guidance, allocate resources wisely, and proactively address challenges to ensure no child is left behind.
In conclusion, Nghipondoka stressed the importance of collective efforts to nurture the minds and hearts of learners, paving the way for a stronger and more prosperous Namibia.
