RIVERS REVIVED: This year, which was marked by an intense and relentless drought across the country, is ending with heavy rains in many regions. December brought heavy storms to many parts of the country, breathing new life into various rivers. Spectacular videos of the rejuvenated Kunene and Hoanib Rivers, along with the majestic Ruacana Waterfalls, have been widely shared online, showcasing the resilience of nature and Namibians’ appreciation for the rain. More heavy showers are expected this week, with flash floods likely to occur. The public, especially those camping in the mountainous areas of Kunene, Erongo, //Kharas, Hardap, and Khomas, are urged to remain vigilant and prioritise safety, as floods remain a concern during this rainy season.
