THE Mayor of Helao Nafidi, Darius Shaalukeni, has retained his position after being re-elected.
Shaalukeni will be deputized by Penexupifo Matias, who was also re-elected.
Meanwhile, Sackaria Haimbili was re-elected as Chairperson of the Management Committee, alongside Fillipus Shimumunyenga and Lucia Nghililewanga. Tomas Elago and Loide Hamutenya remain as ordinary council members.
In his acceptance speech, Shaalukeni affirmed their dedication to serving the community and ensuring efficient service delivery.

According to Shaalukeni, Helao Nafidi is more than just a town; it is a vibrant community defined by its hardworking residents, rich culture, and boundless potential.
“We are committed to upholding the values of transparency, accountability, and inclusivity, ensuring that every voice in our community is heard and valued,” he said.
He further said that their priorities will include strengthening the local economy, improving access to quality education through UNESCO’s Learning Cities initiative, and enhancing infrastructure to make Helao Nafidi a model town for innovation and opportunities.
Shaalukeni emphasized their commitment to sustainable development and positioning Helao Nafidi as a key player within the global network of learning cities.
However, he stressed that achieving these goals cannot be accomplished by the Council alone and requires collaboration from all stakeholders.
He called on the community of Helao Nafidi to work together with the Council to transform the town into a desirable hub for investment and opportunities.
