THE results are in from the Oneshila Community Centre in Oshakati, where voting resumed past midnight after a temporary halt caused by full ballot boxes. While some voters left and did not return, those who stayed eventually cast their ballots.
Out of 897 people who received ballot papers to vote for a presidential candidate, 14 ballots were rejected due to improper marking, multiple selections, or being left blank. Of the 883 valid votes, Swapo presidential candidate Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah secured a majority with 508 votes, followed by IPC’s Panduleni Itula with 319, and PDM’s McHenry Venaani with 33 votes.
The remaining 13 presidential candidates received the following votes:

For the National Assembly election, 896 people cast their ballots, with 16 rejected due to improper marking or being left blank. Of the 880 valid votes, Swapo led with 440, followed by IPC with 293, and AR with 52.
The remaining parties received the following votes: ADM (0), APP (0), BCP (7), CDVP (0), CoD (2), IPC (293), LPM (4), NEFF (25), NDP (0), NEFC (1), NPF (3), NUDO (1), PDM (50), RDP (1), RP (1), Swanu (0), UDF (0), UNP (0) and UPM (0).
