RECENT SHOWERS: Several interior areas across various regions experienced light to moderate rainfall over the weekend, with more rain anticipated this week. The weekend’s rainfall was widely celebrated online, with social media users sharing photos and videos of the rain in places such as Windhoek, Crinium Lake Estate, Otavi, Kalkfeld, Ogongo, and Tsumeb. According to the Namibia Meteorological Service, more rain is expected in the interior, particularly in the Zambezi Region, on Tuesday. However, places such as Rundu, Ondangwa, and Windhoek are also expected to receive rainfall on Tuesday, with Rundu likely to experience showers until at least Thursday. The Namibia Meteorological Service further predicted frontal cooling in the south on Tuesday and Wednesday, accompanied by fresh to strong winds over the interior until Wednesday. Meanwhile, the coast is expected to remain partly cloudy and cool to mild, with fog patches. Predictions further indicate that a few showers are also anticipated in the southern coastal areas on Tuesday.
