THE United Nations (UN) Resident Coordinator, Hopolang Phororo, has signed Namibia’s Comprehensive African Agricultural Development Programme (CAADP) Compact.
The CAADP Compact is an agreement that outlines the Government of Namibia’s strategy for achieving sustainable and inclusive growth in the agricultural sector. The compact will be executed by the Government of Namibia in collaboration with stakeholders, including development partners, civil society organisations, and the private sector.
“We believe that the CAADP Compact has the potential to transform the agricultural sector and contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals,” Phororo added.
Phororo’s signing of the compact reaffirms the UN’s commitment as a key development partner in this transformative process. She commended the Government of Namibia for its leadership in developing the CAADP Compact and pledged the UN’s support for its implementation.
“The UN in Namibia stands ready to support the Government and people of Namibia in realising the goals of this important agreement,” Phororo assured.
